Not gonna lie, the soundtrack to Kung Fu Panda, Howl's Moving Castle, and Avatar: The Last Air bender (the show of course, not that godawful movie) helped inspire this. As well as The Name of the Wind and the Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss. (Great books - do check them out!)

I... Have wanted to capture this setting for years and years and this is the first time that I've felt confedant enough with my perspective drawing to attempt to. Children - Boys and Girls, Toys and Squirrels - this is the Kingdom of the Old Gods, home to Dalheen and Orikuyehn. It's one of the two major kingdoms that sit on the ancient mountains. The southern mountains of Set hold the Kingdom of the Old Gods at their feet - and the mountains of Rise hold the Kingdom of the New Gods at their peaks.

This is just one of the many streets within the kingdom and (though it may be a lofty goal) i hope to illustrate more of them - as well as more of the Kingdom of the New Gods.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa i spent more time on this than i should have xD

I sketched it all traditionally with a mechanical pencil, and did most of the shading with the same mechanical pencil and a blending stump. Some of the shading is digital, but not all of it. All of the colouring, however, is digital.
